Why am I so worked up about T.O.?

You would think someone from the AFC North would make me this crazy.  Or someone ripping the Steelers everytime someone posts about them, or writes a column about them, but T.O. just drives me nuts.  I remember elementary school teachers telling my parents, "he can do it if he would just try".  I'm doing pretty good now, despite what they said all those years ago.  Maybe I just hate to see a great talent go to waiste.  Mr. Owens certainly has the skills, the only wide receiver to have at least 10 touchdowns the last three seasons, you can't deny that.  He also ranks with the best all time in stats, he has HOF numbers.  But.....T.O. has played for three teams now.  He has left three teams in termoil.  He will not take blame for leaving three teams in that state.  So why does an NFL team think T.O. is the answer?  He is the missing link to a championship?  No.  He hasn't won one of those.  Dallas didn't win a post season game with T.O., so he could have scored three touchdowns and it wouldn't have mattered.  Relationships.  It's funny how the only team mates who come to his side are defense.  Recievers seem to like him as well.  I don't think the defense really cares, and most recievers are younger than him, he is old you know, and are impressionable.  When was the last time you heard a QB or O-lineman say "T.O. is not at fault"?  Anyway, I'm glad the Steelers are smarter, I hope the Bills are thick skined, T.O. is lucky the HOF is based on numbers, and I'm pretty sure his elementary teacher said "doesn't get along well with others".

Why am I so worked up about T.O.?

I have kinda gotten over my T.O. rage the last few days.  I still don't care for the guy, but hey, he's not in Pittsburgh.  I guess the Bills did it right by signing him to a one year deal.  He seems to show up and be on his best behavior the first year.  That may be how he ends his career, one year contracts until he gets too old or runs out of teams that want him.

Why am I so worked up about T.O.?

I'm sorry but I do not see what T.O did this time.  He is a scapegoat.  The man wants the football and he is a diva....what reciever isn't, but I believe this says a whole lot more about the Dallas organization than it does about Owens.  They have a weak coach, apparently a weak offensive coordinator and more disturbingly it is fairly appareent that Tony Romo is a .  The pure fact that you have heard all of these stories out of the Dallas locker room is proof that their is no team concept in Dallas whatsoever.  Their is no leadership whatsoever.  But it is easier to blame this on T.O

I'm not saying T.O is a perfect team mate.  His personal atttacks against Garcia were childish and uncalled for.  And obviously he was out of bounds in Philadelphia....but......Isn't it fairly obvious at this point that a lot pf what he said about Donovan Mcnabb was true.  Is their a day that goes by without some sort of drama coming from the Mcnabb camp.  Has Mcnabb shown up in a big game in his career?  Mcnabb is thin skinned and takes every slight badly.  Is T.O dividing the locker room or is he just voicing an opinion already held by half the locker room on certain guys?  It's not like half the team doesn't notice that Romo goofs off in practice and doesn't prepare the way he should....again T.O is a convenient excuse.

In conclusion...T.O is a d-bag of epic proportions, but if that was a cause for concern in the NFL half the rosters would need to be purged.  Their is a lot of truth in what T.O says.  One guy does not kill team chemistry....one guy, with no filter on his mouth can point out that a team has no leadership and chemistry.....I too am glad that my Steelers stay away from this type of circus....but T.O is not nearly as bad as the media would like you to believe.  At some point they will do their jobs and focus some of the spot light on the Mcnabbs of the world and the Romo's.....and realize that T.O was right.  Of course I expect the media to get on that about the same time I expect them to take a critical look at our President....never.
